ENGLISH LANGUAGE & LITERATURE
The English Language and Literature course is specifically tailored for IB-DP and A-level students. It comprises two main components: a language course that focuses on analyzing unseen non-literary texts, enhancing critical reading and writing skills; and a literary course that emphasizes comparative text analysis and preparation for internal assessments like the Individual Oral (IO) and Non-Exam Assessment (NEA). This comprehensive program ensures students are well-prepared for their specific syllabi requirements, fostering a deep understanding of both language and literature.
IB-DP English Language & Literature (Paper 1) (SL/HL)
The English Language and Literature course for Paper 1, tailored for IB-DP students, focuses on the analysis of unseen non-literary texts. Covering a wide range of text types, the course equips students with the skills to identify and evaluate language and rhetorical techniques through extensive practice and guided analysis.
IB-DP Literature (Paper 2) (SL/HL)
The English Language and Literature course for Paper 2, tailored for IB-DP students, focuses on comparative analysis of literary texts. This course covers essay planning and writing, teaching students how to effectively structure and support their arguments. It includes detailed essay marking to provide constructive feedback and improve writing skills.
IB-DP English Literature (Paper 1) (SL/HL)
The English Literature course for Paper 1 offers an in-depth exploration of unseen literary texts. Covering a range of genres including poetry, prose, and drama, the course provides comprehensive guidance on analyzing and interpreting complex texts. Students will engage in rigorous practice and receive detailed feedback to refine their analytical skills.
IB-DP IO (or HL Essay) Preparation
The IB-DP English IO Preparation course helps students create and refine their global issue, select and analyze extracts, and monitor essay progress with continuous support. Teachers will mark and practice IO presentations, tailoring the preparation to align with the preferences of students' school teachers.
IAL English Literature
The IAL English Literature course covers a broad spectrum of literary works across different exam boards. Our teaching content includes in-depth analysis of Drama and Poetry, enhancing students' interpretive skills. We also focus on Prose and Unseen Texts, developing critical thinking and analytical writing.
IAL NEA Preparation
The IAL English NEA Preparation course helps students create and refine their essay topics, select and analyze literary texts, and monitor essay progress with continuous support. Teachers will mark and provide feedback on NEA drafts, tailoring the guidance to align with the preferences of students' school teachers.
